They both look tottaly alike. whats the difference between the two? Also my tech says the TRC 450 actually has a built in speech processor. I actaully saw it in one of his 450s the other day. Pretty cool. |

RCI2990, Try asking your question in the "Ask the Tech" section. The techs don't always read the other sections. So they may not have seen this post. |

Are they both the same chassis as the Cobra 146? I have a TRC 451, it is the best CB short of my 2510!!! I would love to do the NPC mod on that baby and put a 1969 or 477 final in it! With the stock final and factory front end it has plenty of power, crazy mod, and the best ears of almost any dual conversion reciever(regardless that it is single). Znut |

I thought so!!! LOL! I just emailed my tech and he said the 451 has the old 146 GTL chassis. he said it is louder than he!! because it actually has a built in speech processor and not too many people know that. Kinda a realistic CB secret i guess!!! LOL |

Yeah 2990, the 451 is a great radio. I made my first SSB contact with that baby, barefoot on busy 38LSB. Swings 30 watts not on a peak meter, SSB. I heard the equivalent Sears Roadtalker is the same. I bet the 146 does great too. Oh, by the way, I always used the stock mike! Znut |
