Bear in mind that the PDC256 is going to read correctly on ONLY ONE mode. You can set it for USB, or for LSB, or for AM. It will read wrong on the other two of the three modes. Sounds like a waste of that extra digit. The radio's internal counter has an additional hookup inside to the mode switch to correct the reading when you change modes. The PDC256 does not. The little rotary switches inside the 256 have to match the internal offset frequency inside the radio. The 148 uses 7.8 MHz, and the switches are now set for that. I think the Warrior is a 10.695 MHz radio. The correct setting of those switches is different for that kind of radio. If you know the number on the printed circuit board, that might help. I don't have any info on the Comanche Warrior, but I'll bet it's built on a circuit board that is used in other models. I may have that info filed under another brand name and model built with the same board. You WILL need an accurate external counter, long enough to set the trimmer inside the 256 once it is hooked up. The trimmer cap underneath is set to make it agree with the external counter, after the switches are set to match the radio. 73 |
