What it is worth depends what someone will pay for it.I have seen Penatrator 500's MIB go for well over $100 on eBay. |

Ill give you my honest opinion of them-- ran one for years--if i could get another i would run it forever--no better 3 element beqam made --longer they are up the better they are and definatly tighter on the back side.. DEAN- buy it if you can reasonable-- you won't regret it! |

What is MIB? I figure a an avanti astrobeam in good shape should be worth at least $100 maybe more. I understand it is built solid and has a tighter pattern than the maco 3's. mikefromms NOTE! MINT Condition IN BOX Lon Tech808

Give me a dollar? I knew someone would give a smartalleck remark like that but hey, what do you expect on a public forum? I did see one go for 300.00 on Ebay back in 2001. Figured mine is worth about that or so... I know several guys that ran them back in the 1970s and they swore by them one guy sold his for a set of moonrakers and then actually went back to the guy he sold the astrobeams to and bought them back.. Said the moonrakers were not as tight on rejection.. |

WHOAAAAAAAAA Calm Down. A question was asked in the OPEN area of the forum on what people thought it might be worth. You had already seen what one went for before on e-Bay. Back when Avanti Research Department (Avanti Antennas) came out with it, I drove up to get one (Addison IL.) about 120 miles and try it out. That was on a Monday Morning on Thursday morning I drove back up and gave it back and and told them it did not out perform or even equal the antenna's I was useing at the time and told them it was not worth 2 cents to me. To me that is what it was worth. And that is what one would still be worth to me if I bought one and someone paid for the shipping to me. And that was my Personal Opinion of it. If you did not want people's Honest opinion's on it why ask? Not a smart alleck answer just what I thought of them. Price back then was around 17 or 18 dollars and I figured that was about $16.98 or $17.98 too much. You have to realize that not every antenna will perform well for everyone and not everyone will like any 1 type of antenna. Just my Personal Thought's. Lon Tech808
