Bkerby,

WELCOME TO THE COPPER FORUM!

Sorry I can't help you with any information on the Palomar Hornet Amplifier but I have never even heard of one before.

The Only Hornet Amp I know about is the Older D&A Hornet.

Must be something new in radio land.

Palomar hornet is 80w max output PEP.

I would say deadkey input should not exceed 2 watts. This is a small guy so you'd want a low deadkey with some nice swing.

It has variable power, but I don't think you'd ever need to use it if it's only an 80 watt amp.

If you are looking for a cheap amp I think you'd probably be just as well off going with a KL200P which will do the same wattage and is a bit cheaper.

He says it has "four moffsets" I'm guessing he means Mosfet? I'm also assuming that by mosfet he means it's a four pill/transistors/etc amp. If that is the case, those must be some tiny pills for 80 watts max!
Just my 1 cent
