Today after about a month of PATIENTLY waiting, we installed my Cobra 148 gtl. It is the older version, and the guy that rebuilt it for me did what cm3885 says is a mod that he has never seen before......

Here it is: The tone switch on low and the BRT/DIM switch on dim are the regular 40 channels. Tone switch on Hi will give you channels 41 through 80. Tone switch on low BRT/DIM on BRT will give you channels 81 through 99. After channel 99 the display will read 15. This is 15 channels below one or 26.815. The display will count backwards as youi move forward until it reads 1 this is 26.955. After the number 1 the display will read c1 this is the RC channel 26.995 3A. c2 is 7A c3 is 11A c4 is 15A and c5 is 19A.

Now, has anyone ever heard of that when the extra channels have been added to a radio? Just curious.

Moonshadow, Yes that is one of the old standard channel mods. that was being done right after the 148 GTL first came on the market. A long time before you were thought of. HE-HE
