Used to use a firestick till I found out that after a few hard lick's against tree branch's and such that the tuning tip would break off making it useless. I now use a SS 102" and don't think I'll ever use anything else again. Superior performance and rugged too! ![](http://www.copperelectronics.com/discus4/clipart/thumbs.gif) |

3' Firestik FL3, Fits in the garage Mounted on a stakehole mount right rear corner of bed, Looks like a RC car but I'm not blowing as much RF into the cab pillar as if it were on the front corner. Performance could be better, has decent receive, but it fits in the garage. |

astatic 3kl & i've used 'em all, & then some. could just be the new KING of mobile antennas. sorry lon, we all know what works great for some doesn't work as well for others, & my copper-bought mag mounted 3kl walks circles around my wilson 2k trucker on a 10" shaft mag mounted. that's xmit distance, receive distance, receive noise generated by the vehicle as well as the atmosphere. of course it takes 3-hecks-of-magnets, or a roll of duct tape to keep the 3kl magnet mounted!!! |

I use a 4 foot Firestick around town and to get in and out of the garage, and a 102 steel whip for use at the lake, wonderful antenna, with the lake water and the 102 I really see a difference as I drive away. |

well i tried to use the s/s102 today. i think that is not going to work on the mini van roof. it flexes the roof too much .i think the s/ 102 is just too heavy for the thin roof well i have a nice hole in my roof now anyways:] |

DOES THE ASTATIC 3K HAVE TO BE MOUNTED ON ROOF , OR WOULD MOUNT ON TRUNK WORK ? I,M NOT FAMILIAR WITH HOW IT IS LOADED. |
