Bigbob, Just my opinion...Superstar 3900. Not fancy, but mine have been as reliable as the day is long. (owned 2 - friend talked me into selling him one) I still have the other one. It's about 9 years old, used in 4x4 pickup & as a base unit on a power supply. Except for the danged roger beep...cut J9, and the lack of a freq counter I have no complaints. These radios are rock solid AFTER they warm up and have lots of audio, both TX & RX. I have 2 Galaxy DX93T's, a Saturn and will not part with my 3900! It is on standby for "emergency" replacement should I lose one of my others. Neither Superstar has had any problem so far... Ron |

Well Big Bob.....Its not single final but the Mag 257 will be hard to beat for the price. I have 2 single final versions of them and I love them. Awsome audio and they go roughly from 25-30. Let us know what you decide on Buck |
