Took a little getting used to, but I like it also. Seems easier on the eye and definetly more professional looking. I find myself using the "last day" or "last 3 hours" search alot and it comes up differently, but QUICKER! |

NOTE! I hope everyone likes the "NEW LOOK!" of the Copper Forum. It is: Quicker / Faster and has Brighter Graphics and Many New Features. The Poor Forummaster has been up well over 24 hours straight now transferring everything from one to the other. It will take some getting used to for everyone (and especially the Moderator's as everything is completely New to us also) but it offers more space and features than the old forum. And will solve the problem's of the Forum Crashing. We were just growing too fast and the poor old Forum just could not keep up with all of the post's. THANK YOU FORUMMASTER! Lon Tech808 |

There are a lot of new features such as the User List. Searching should be faster. It keeps track of how many posts you make. It doesn't let guest post using a registered members username. We are still finding new features. |

Go to the user list and click on the #of posts field and you can look at the list sorted by the total number of posts by each user. Pretty cool--I am up near the top! Check out TAZ!! Woohoo! Bruce is up there pretty high, too. |

So what happened to the user profiles? Like some of the new features, not sure how useful some of them are, like last poster to a forum on the topics page. But, well done.

Forummaster, May I make a humble suggestion. On some pages the last poster is the last column, on others it is the first next to the topic. Can I suggest that the last poster is always the last column. This provides this feature but is both more consistent across pages and closer to the original format for those trying to get used to the new format. Thanks, Barracuda |

Barracuda, I am guessing you mean being able to access the posters profile via his name to the left of the post. There is a setting to enable profile links on posts. I have checked this setting so from this point on you will be able to access the posters profile. You will notice that you can access my profile on this post. You can also access forum members profiles via the User List link on the menu. |

Hey guys...I love the new look...so much eaisier to read. Not... not to play down all of the ForumMasters hard work here, but is there anyway to set up the code so that members only have to log in once, no matter which section they choose to browse? I just find it to be a pain to have to enter my password constantly while jumping topics. Seriously...ForumMaster..I'm not complaining about the set-up (much)...I just wanted to know if you have it in your power to make it easier on us. Thanks for reading... Sofkow CEF # 299 and damn proud of it... Forum Master Note : You can solve this problem by checking the box in your profile that says "Remember my username and password in a cookie". By saving a cookie on your computer the software can track that you are the same user entering each new area. |

It does look like the other forums and that's what I liked about the OLD format. It stood out. I particularly do not like how this new one is set up. I check the forum EVERY day. I don't always post but that's a different issue. In the previous format, when I'd click on the last day option, it would bring up ALL topics from the categories which I selected in my cookies. It would tell the name of the thread, the authors of the posts, and a short description of them. When I do that now, all I get are a couple folders. Am I missing something here? I checked my settings and they all remained as they were. I know all of you who worked on these changes put some good effort into this. I commend you for this! I am just making a couple suggestions to improve things here. |

We have purposely tried to keep our main site simple so that everyone no matter what browser they are using can access it. It is also set up to load quickly for customers with slow connections. |

Stickshift, We actually purchased the upgrade last year but I didn't install it because the old version was working well. Only after the forum out grew the old version did I decide to change. The old forum was starting to experience file locking errors. This would cause the software to disable the forum to protect the data files. In the last week it disabled itself 6 times. If I wasn't around to enable it the forum would stay down for hours. It also was becoming extremely slow. As to your problem with the layout of the "Last Day" page I will try to find a way to setup a more friendly layout. Most of the problems members are experiencing can be solved by a setting in the software. Think of this like buying a new house. It is better than your old house but it isn't setup for you yet but once you add your touches it starts to feel like a home. As we add our touches this will start to feel like home again as well.

It defenitely loads quicker, that's for sure. I think it was quicker to view the post's before. You got to see a general overview of all post's made during the last 3 hours, last day, or last week, without actually taking the time to look at the entire post itself. |

Forummaster, How about "Mudduck" up through "HF Brodacast Guru"? I'm sure that you have other irons in the fire now but it would be fun to stretch the imagination a little. Maybe that will get members to do a little more posting. I'm guilty of reading more than I post. Karatebutcher however, he's just a whole other story. LOL I like to be able to see who else is on too. Maybe the Forummaster colud make a little icon for your name instead of the SENIOR? maybe an "OLD GEEZER or a Ratchet"? for the Forums Longest winded RATCHET JAW on the CEF Nets on Sundays. THANK YOU! Mr. FORUMMASTER for all of the Hard Work you do for the Copper Forum Member's and for a Job WELL DONE! Well I am very happy that the old forum couldn't handle the volume any more and I am very happy that the forumaster had to be up 24 straight hours to get this done. This directly shows that there is a serious demand that is being filled by Coppers suppply. What a great fun and informative site, thank you all. Now, I really want to see what kind of member I am going to be, I'm sure I have to have a least a few hundred posts, don't I?? Probably not as many as Bruce, but hey, some of us have to work (har har). Anyhey, great site, now I just need to make it to super supreme grand worthy mega member status. Thanx copper Dan |

Formmaster, I like the new look of the forum as well. Thanks for all your hard work. I do however miss how the "Last 3 Hours" or "Last Day" feature busted out the topic folders and allowed for a "One Screen" quick and easy way to review who and what has been posted. Having to bust out the folders manually one-by-one is very annoying to me!!!!!!!! I find myself spending about two or three minutes looking at one or two folders and closing down due to becoming aggravated at the "manual intensiveness" now required to surf the forum. So, I suspect I'm not the only one doing the same thing. I suspect the forum traffic has seen a slowdown since the change too. I have drifted away from wanting to visit the site due to this!!!! ( I used to check the site and brouse through everything posted several times a day. Since the change I haven't visited the site a third as much do to the aggravation level it causes me!) And, being on dialup it takes three or four times longer to surf the "menu madness" of the new system as conpared to the old "one page" concept. My time isn't money like others but it is valuable to me. FORUMMASTER, Tell me my mental anguish is self-induced as usual and that I missed an option or feature that would correct this mad-folder-busting sickness. lol Is there a way to have ALL of the topic folders bust open at once to allow single screen reviewing of individual posts headers like the old system did? Mr_RF, I finally found the setting that controls this function. It will now expand the folders when you do any form of search. I know a lot of users find this frustrating but you must remember that you are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Admin functions have been moved, added and changed as well. Like everything it has a learning curve. It was impossible to learn all the possible problems before we installed the software. Before you give up on something post a note and I will research it in the order of importance. I have found a solution to just about every problem listed so far. |
