Does anyone have the Omega force S45HP they can advise how stable the ssb is? My friend that was after the s9 decided to possibly go this route if the performance is there, because he is a big dx'er on ssb, and got to have that ssb stability?

The S-45 I used to own had little to no drift from hot to cold on SSB. But I prefer using a 2950DX because it easier to navigate through frequencies and very stable with no drift that I can detect. Both radios are microprocessor controlled but the S-9 is not.

Best Regards

i have/used both i find both are both stable
from hot to cold.. the 2950 is easier to navigate thru the freqs.im a big ssber myself
and love the s45 it also save the mode so no need to swith from usb to lsb to am.the rci
likes an after market mic. the magnum seems to work the best with mic provided.which is a power mic.the 2950 ya can run a amp after it. the s45
im not sure as it does more than the 2950 by itself and that might be the decideing factor.
in all honestly they BOTH are great ssb radios
just different features both are stable on ssb

Sounds like a winner guys, really do appreciate the info and I will pass it along tomorrow, looks like the decision will be up to him come Monday.
The s45 though high power out put can still be used with a high drive amp, or cut the power back on the radio and still should be able to use a low drive amp to.
I do like that it offers 2 mic jacks on it, that way you can still use your favorite mic as well as the one that came with it, very nice touch to it.
