Why is it that the amps copper has listed for sale in the book has export only? Does that mean that they will only sell them if it is export. Just curious in AZ |

Chris, The reason is because it is against certain laws to use amps on certain freq. |

Chris, Any Amp that Copper has listed you can buy and they will be happy to ship it to you, even to the sunny state of AZ. Lon Tech808 |

i don't believe it is illegal to own an amp, but it is illegal to have one wired inline or otherwise showing that it is being used illegal. of course if you have license, then by all means feel free. but hey what do i care, when have i listened to big brother |

There are people running 30 KW on base stations and up to 80 KW watts in mobiles......yes mobiles. If the FCC really cared these people would be off the air......CB is a non issue with the FCC unless interference is reported. |

gee i guess maybe i should have come here first . when i turn on my 600 boomer, the lights come on, the pre-amp works, and it clicks when i key up but doesn't have any output. the coax is tight. the battery is fully charged. its driven by a grant xl. i even tried a different radio... nothing. its been sitting unused in my truck for awhile. whats wrong with it? |

maybe nobody comes here much. i thought i'd find out something about my problem before i tore it apart and threw it away. my outlook is "it's not working now, so i'm not gonna hurt anything" |

Apple with the limited info given it's really only speculation without seeing and testing the amp. |

Give us the run down on your installation , jumpers, and so on. Also do you have a decent watt meter to get some ballpark reading's ? If you are a driver another option would be to take it into a c.b. shop and see if they get it to work on their bench. They could back it down and at least make it work on a 50 amp power supply for test purposes. Last, I hate to say it but I am not fond of Boomer amps at all. I run a Joker custom built amp, and you can't go wrong with X-Force, Magna Force, Davemade, or good old Texas Star. Take care. |

dont use a watt meter. dang thing wont even mess up my tv in the garage whereas the barefoot grant will. i too am not fond of boomers (a little late) as i have 2 of them and have had trouble with both. i also have a palomar dx200b and i like it fine its 7 yrs old and no problems, but i hardly ever use it. |
