If I wanted to use my KL203 in a base application, what kind of power supply would be sufficient? I was thinking about a 15 amp power supply. |

15 amp would probably work...that amp I believe manufact says it pulls from 12 to 14, but I know they can pull a little more when going hard...15 would work, 20 might be better. Remember though that this is only when connecting the amp alone to the power supply. If you try to run a mobile radio & an amp off of a power supply you'll need more juice than that. |

Thanks Brew, I have another power supply for my radio. I was also considering just hooking it up to a car battery and using a battery charger to keep that battery charged. |

Cbblackbeard Yes, a battery will also work but I don't recomend anything more than putting a 10amp charger on it. That will be plenty while your amplifier is in use. When not in use, a trickle charge of 1 or 2 amps will keep the battery up when it's not on use. Jeff Tech548 |

Just be VERY careful with a battery in the shack---make sure you have plenty of ventilation for it. A battery explosion is not a fun thing! |
