Is that really a photo of the real radio up above? I would think that 300 watts would take up more space than what is pictured. Shouldn't it have a big heatsink or a pot belly or something other than what is pictured? 73, Marty |

Don't think I like that coax pigtail. Whats up with that? Could get damaged and cause a weakness in the link. Kenny cef491(27.115lsb) 2sf491(27.555usb) Indiana

Not a Weakness but a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT! With the coaxal pigtail it eliminates Stress on your Coax and your Coax Connector on your radio and assures you of a 100% GOOD CONNECTION to your coax to your antenna. It also solves MANY problems with installation's were a person does not have room in an enclosed area to have coax bent at a 45% angle attached to the back of a radio. It is also a BIG PLUS for Slipseater driver's who use Slipseater mounting box's. Lon Tech808 CEF#808/HAM#33 CVC#002 N9CEF

I like the pigtail also, it gives ya something to work with when your in close quarters. It'll make it easy to keep all your wires nice and snug. If you were using it for a base radio you would not need 90's,unions/couplers etc. to hook it to your noise filter. WILDRAT MARK CEF674 CVC029

The Connex 4300HP-300 Radio was designed for AM/FM User Market ONLY! They did not have any interest in or design it for the SSB market or SSB users. Other Manufacturer's already have that market covered. Lon ~ Tech808 ~ N9CEF CEF#808 ~ CEF HAM#33 ~ CVC#002 10-10 #61493 ~ 10-10 VP#2688 Tech808@copperelectronics.com
