I tried adjusting my bias as directed in the service manual.

Set radio to CH 19 USB TX mode. MOD off.

Connect current meter to TP7(+) and TP9(-) VR12 50 mA
Connect current meter to TP7(+) and TP8(-) VR10 100 mA

My issue is I can only get about 16 MA out of this adjustment. Is it my meter has the wrong scale or do I need to swap some parts out to adjust properly. The only mod I have done to this radio is the swing mod where you add the diode to the resister.

I have the exact same problem with my refurbished (unmolested) 949. The driver can be set at 50mA, but I only get around 12mA when trying to adjust the final with VR10. Is it possible there is a misprint in the factory service manual? Is this information even any good for the mosfet version that I have? The only reason I even tried to adjust the bias is the driver fet is making the back of the radio too hot to touch after a short key up (with no modulation.. am or ssb). I wonder why this question has remained unanswered for so long? Please help. I would rather fix this myself than send it back to Galaxy after having it for two whole days.
