got a dx 949 with a chip in it that has "rci-texas ranger 8917" on it. what kind of mods would i expect out of it and why does it have a texas ranger chip in it if its a galaxy?

because rci, texas ranger, galaxy, and several others except magnum, uniden, and cobra are all made in the same factory(s) with the same components(mostly rci components)...the differences lay in the assembly and design/layout

for some of the mods look under the "modification list" on the left side of the forum page...it has the frequency mods, clarifier unlock, and others...if that isn't all of them, do a google search for it
