Does anyone have any mods for the two Midlands that have the frequency display, I posted twice on the open forum about these radios without any response. Are these radios a no-no on this forum or what? Wildbill |

There are hundreds of them.Which ones do you want? Here is the Clarifier Mod... 1) Cut R44 and D52.Find R174 and jump it . 2) Follow the YELLOW wire from the clarifier knob and cut it just before it connects to the PCB.Take this wire and solder it to Ground. 3) Find the RED wire from the clarifier and cut it the same. Then solder it to pin #3 of the mb3756 ic. 4) Cut the brown wire off the clarifier knob. |

I also have a Midland 77-113. If I need to reduce its output to keep from overdriving an amp (KL 40) I don't see any pot to do that. Anyone have a basic suggestion on ways to cut the output on a simple radio? I'm going to borrow a good power meter and see what it puts out stock, my amp will be here in a couple days. Yes, I am a newbie and this is my first post. |

Sender, The main reason to turn the power down is then you will have a radio that throws 30 - 40 watts out and sounding good. It's well worth the effort to reduce it's power. Have you read Tech 181's Review on the KL-40? It is in the Subscriber (Preview) Section Catagory: Product Review's KL-40. A very good Review! I checked everything I have and cannot find anything on the 77-113 for you, maybe someone out there can give you the Tune up info to turn the power down. Just my Thought's. Lon Tech808 |

Yes i am I did find a channel mod but when looking at the diagram that came with the mod i could not find what seemed to be the same thing on the diagram in the radio plus it says the ic is in the upper right hand corner but after opening the radio it seems to be more toward the middle/left/center of the board behind the faceplate would love to modify this radio since it seems to be a screemer anyway. |
