Jose, Yes... 1. Turn radio off, and remove battery pack. 2. Remove the back cover and next to the key you will see a row of small parts. The bottom 3 spots should be empty. The 4th one from the bottom has a small surface mount resistor (rectangular doohickey). Remove this part only, the 4th one up from the bottom. 3. On the same circuit board you will see a square pad labeled "RESET". Take a screwdriver and short the metal case of the radio to this square pad. This resets the CPU. Put the back cover back on. 4. Turn on the radio, press FUNCTION, and release when you see and "F" in the top left corner of the display. Now hold down the CALL button and you should see bands A - J. Now if you hit FUNCTION, then CALL the radio will change to channel mode. Freq range is 25.165 - 29.700. CB channels are in band "E". Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

I think this radio does the league minimum. 4 watts. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

Mrshark It isn't recomended turning the power up on these little radios. Doing so only over-heats them and battery power is VERY short lived. Besides, even if you could double the output power to 8 watts, the results would only be about a 1/2 S-unit increase on the receiving end. There isn't enough heatsink in those radios to get long-life out of the finals. Increasing the power does nothing but shorten their life span. Battery power will also be short lived. ------------------------------------------------- Jose Ruiz The antenna that is supplied with this little radio is actually tuned for the CB band. However, the farther you move away from frequency range that it was cut for, the higher the SWR is going to go up. In other words, the supplied antenna WILL NOT safly cover all the frequencies that the radio will cover. When you start to feel the radio warming up in your hand, it's time to shut it off and let it cool down for a while. Cherokee, who was the first to sell that radio, offered a optional 14 inch antenna that banded far better than the original antenna. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

I have one and Jeff is right the antenna was cut for cb and had to be cut for 10 meter FM. As for how well this radio works its not a bad set and realy is about the only game in town. Ive worked costra rica with the 19 inch wip from my frount lawn. |

Bruce I don't doubt you a bit. Only you have that kind of luck. Jeff. |
