trying to use a n/c mic with my s-45 but doesnt
have anywere near the audio.tried the 636l and
rk-56.with both mics using the 4 pin side of radio.reports were the rk-56 had a much better
tone and the 636 was more tinny sounding.but
neither matched the stock mic.question is if
i rewire the rk-56 and put on the 6pin side
would i have better luck?

Dale,

Sorry but NO as your radio does not know if you are using the stock Magnum 4 pin or 6 pin microphone jack.

The S-45 was designed to work at 100% with the factory stock MAGNUM microphones.

The 6 pin microphone connector is for your UP/DN controls and have nothing to do with the audio.

Hope this help's,

i currently use the stock mic on my early version delta force, dale, but have had agreeable reports using a road devil noise cancelling power mic. the dm452 & m575 i tried on the delta were acceptable, but any movement amplified everything & made it sound like i was in a windtunnel....and that was in the house, not even mobile. i never wired a shure 526t or turner +2 for it. remember, my early version delta has no topgun setup in it....
i have never seen anyone anywhere give favorable reports using an UNAMPLIFIED noise cancelling mic on the omega, delta, 257 magnums.

Hey Dale
I use the Omega everyday in my truck and I have found that the 636 and the RK56 offer almost the exact same tonal quality...with that said I have had to run the TG/on and Mic/G up all the way...I only use one of these if (like right now) a co-worker is using my Road Devil to see if it works for their voice and setup. When the Road Devil is at home in my truck I run the Mic/G (on the radio) at app. 10 o'clock for close talk and up to a maximum of 1 o'clock for "gettin out there". I run the mic gain on the mic exactly centered on "Vol", app. half way up and it has worked very well for me.
