This is ridiculous. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Posted on Thursday, May 18, 2006 - 11:48 pm: Sinker, After talking with Sam today he said the S3-175 / S6-175 / S9-175 WILL ARRIVE IN LATE JUNE OR EARLY JULY. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So do we have a possible year yet? I see S-3-175's and S-6-175's on other sites but not here. I know about the UPDATES etc., etc., etc. BUT can we get a realistic projected date or should I just move on to another radio? I mean waiting 2 years is much more than a bit excessive. Sinker CEF-634

Lon not blaming you and know you are just relaying the information to us. Trust me I do not envy the position you are in. I was actually kind of hoping that Sam Lewis checked in here and would see this and give us the skinny on things. I am curious why the S-3-175's and S-6-175's are available elsewhere but not on Copper. Maybe because of the SSB issue. I did get an email from Sam to call him but seems he is never available. Again, not your fault I know - Just Venting. . . . . . Sinker CEF-634

I too am patiently waiting. The S9-175 will make a nice driver for the Sweet 16, thus eliminating the 2x2290 driver amp I currently use. "In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them".

Yea, I've been waiting too. I have two S9's and a new 257, but am really looking forward to the S9-175. "In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them".

If a Radio or ANY product is NOT listed on the Copper Electronics website then that means that the radio or product is Out of Stock or Back Ordered or Discontinued by the manufacturer with No confirmed delivery date to Copper Electronics or that the Radio / Product has been Discontinued by the Manufacturer and is no longer avialiable. Which in any case ie: Back Ordered or Discontinued, Or No Longer Avialiable Copper Electronics Inc. has no control over what the Manufacturer's decide to do. And by not having the item's listed saves 100's of calls & e-mails by customer's to Copper Electronics Customer Service each week asking about product's that are not in stock / listed. The Forummaster's policy as he has posted before is: Quote from the Forummaster in previous post on this topic/question: We will not only match the competitors price we will beat it. This is our policy on any advertised price. Hope this help's, Lonnie~Tech808 CEF#0808/HAM#001/CVC#0002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com

Ok...this has been going on for what....2 1/2 years? From May '06 to November '08. If it's that hard Sam....put the 357 back into production....at least that one worked. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26 703 New South Wales

I been holding out for this magical S9 and I've just come to terms with the fact that it's never going to be anything other than a unicorn radio. It's a shame too...cause I was seriously wanting one of these things. I guess I'm going to have to buy a S6 instead and I really hate that cause it has that front mounted mic socket. Now if you could put that on the side, or if Sam and the boys would, then that would be a good radio at 175 watts. Cause personally, I don't do any USB or LSB in the first place. And if someone could ever tell you how to wire a Ranger mic to it or the buttons atleast, then you change the channels without ever touching the radio. Oh well... |

You mean...a 175 watt S-9? Lord sweet baby Jesus...I can only hope that is what Mr. Lonnie is talking about here. It's a dream I'm having, right? |

I see that they have finally arrived, and the picture on Copper's site shows a 6 digit frequency display, BUT, the description say's only a 5 digit display. Do you know if it is 5 or 6? Why would they have changed it to 5 if it is.? "In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them".

I e-mailed Sam Lewis, and he explained everything to me. There is a jumper to activate the 6th digit, just like a regular S9. Looks like I'll be ordering me a new radio!!! "In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them".

When ya do, post some pictures of it working and what not and give us a run-down on it as to whether or not it's work buying. My only main complaint (now) is that you have to run such a big amp with them, couldn't run a 2 or 1 driving 2 box. Which, of course, everyone said you couldn't run a regular S9 with a 2 pill box...but I did...many, many times. I'm curious to see just what this puppy does though... |

Chronic...My current mobile setup is an early S9 driving a 2x2290 Silver Streak into a Texas Star Sweet 16, so I know for a fact that you can run a good 2 pill with the S9's, so I'm with you on that one. I will be ordering the new S9-175 soon, so stay tuned. I plan on putting it in the mobile, and running the TS-1600 with it. "In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them".

Well, kick me in the you-know-whats. As long as we've been waiting for this thing...it should have chrome covers and come with a box of chocolates. Sam Lewis himself should pop out the box and help with the install, Lord have mercy. Capt205...yes sir. You can run a 2 pill box behind a Magnum S-9, you are correct. I've been doing it for years in my dump truck without a problem, matter of fact it works pretty good with a 1 driving 4 box or a 2 driving 4 box as well. And if you couple it to some good coax and then a good antenna...you got a killer combination. |

Well, this is a 2 year old topic but thumbing around the usual radio sites, I don't see anything about this wonderful radio yet. So, what's the deal with it? Has Magnum closed shop or what? Whose got the biggest baddest radio on the market now since Magnum couldn't hold water and stay afloat? |
