Copper Forum Member's,

I just received a Re-Designed MAGNUM S-9-80 pre-production radio yesterday with MORE FEATURES & UPGRADES to run thru it paces & do a REVIEW on.

It has many Features and Upgrades that EVERYONE will LOVE especially those of you who are also licensed HAM's.

I will be posting MORE information & REVIEW on the S-9-80 SOON, as it's delivery date to Copper Electronics is expected to be around the end of December 2007 or first part of January, 2008.

Patzerozero,

The older SP1A was designed for the older type Bi-polar transistor type radios.

The CP1 Speech Compressor is designed for maximum performance with Mosfet powered radios like the newer Magnum Radios.

It would be nice if it would scan. That way I can monitor my favorite channels.

Lonnie,
Can i ask exactly WHY it was re-designed? Was there a problem with the existing S9-80? If so what were the problems. As you know Deb was ready to get one for me for Xmas, now with all the re-design and unavailability of the existing one she went for another make/model.

Bob,

The S-9-80 has a main board and has been re-designed (Inside of the radio) with several UPDATED/NEW features / component's.

There were no problem's with the other S-9-80 radio's, but Sam has redesigned / added MORE features that will be beneficial for both the CBer and Ham's.

Sorry but I cannot be more specific at this time but when Sam say's OK I will post EVERYTHING that has been changed and added.

I REALLY hope one of the changes is the channel selector!

I hope another one is the brightness of the led's.

I've said for awhile if these two things ever improve, I'll get an S-9 again.
