got this new predator 10k today i can only get the swr down to 1.6 on 1 and 1.5 on 40,how will this work with a 250 amp,thanks alot.

Just talk on it I have one and far down as I can get mine is 1.5 but great antenna no problem. It's a talker.

Every antenna has a single frequency or a small frequency range where it operates at its best. Small being one or two 'channels'.

For all regions of radio frequency on either side and the farther away the efficiency drops off. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes very fast. The difference in radio range from ch 1 to ch 40 is pretty great. So only a .5 to a .7 at the extremes is a good antenna match for such a spectrum.

seems to me a 1.5 / 1 match is more than good enough heck thats what 4% reflected? I can handle that

did you add a 8 foot peice of coax and check again if it still reads 1:1 you get 4**** for antenna matching!

I HAVE A PREDATOR 10K. I CAN ONLY GET THE SWR DOWN TO 3. I HAVE 18 FOOT OF BIG COAX. WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP GET DOWN TO 1.5 OR 1.1

well my 10k is mounting on the back side of my tool box with a 28in pices of 2in square aluminum tubing the 10k has a 18in shart , the coil is about 5in about the cab good swr from 1.3 to 1.4.
