What would be a good loud talking AM only mobile rig to get? Im was looking into the Cobra 29 ltd or the galaxy line ( 33,44,55,66). What would be a good choise that is either a single final rig or a dual final rig? |

Tech 671. I talked to a shop that was advertising the Cobra 29 LTDs but when i called theyt said the ones they had were the new ones with the mike plug up front! So what i was wondering do they use the same board as the older pre 1996 Cobra 29 LTD classic boards? Ifnot then ill have to look around to see if i can get an older one used. |

I have a Cobra 25 GTL and a Cobra 29 LTD Classic as well as a few SSB radios. I was just into AM also until I heard a Cobra 148 GTL.....Loudest CB radio out there.....PERIOD. Not a big swing radio but HEAVY audio.....in fact the guys that participate in the big "Shootouts" or "Mobile Keydown" contests run 148s, Grants, and Texas Ranger 296s because of the audio level. A Cobra 25 or 29 will swing better than a 148 but the audio is not in the same league. |

actually i used to have a cobra 25 with the limiters removed and a supertalk in it. i also ran a d104m6b on it and it flat out screamed. i think any cobra with a supertalk is hard to beat for audio. |

Out of the 15 or so radios I have had over the years the best where as follows:Tram D-42,Cobra 78x,Cobra 29LTDClassic,and some Realistic I can't remember the # of.But the bottom line loudest talkin radio i ever owned was a Uniden Pro 510 with a cheap Truck Spec echo power mike!

I'm with Catman. General lee is an awsome sounding radio. BUT for the money i would try to find one of the pre 1996 cobra 29ltdse (black face radios) had one for years and that thing would scream |

Id like to find a pre 1996 cobra 29 or a uniden PC 76 XL. I had a 76er and i loved that rig! Loudest AM only radio i had and it had the special final added and was all modded for the big time final and modulation!! |

Opps i meant the Cobra 29 LTD not the later classic version. Anyone know the main difference between the 29 LTD and the 29 LTD Classic? |
