Anyone have a good idea what a good buy would be on a clean Maco 750. This is NOT the chrome one. I have located one but I feel it may be a bit over priced. Thanks.

Brian,

A "Good Buy" is when you can get something you want for the Price you are Willing to Pay.

If you think it is too high pass it up or make them an offer.

If it's a TUBER you need to know how good the tubes are and also look at re-placement cost's for them if needed.

With so many NEW AMP's out there at Very Reasonable prices it is very hard to guess on used equipment, without Seeing it & Testing it.

Just my thought's.

If it costs more than a new amp like a KLV 1000 or the like then walk out the door!! Thats how i base prices on used gear. I compare it to buying the similar item new... But as you know (and might have found out)on Ebay they throw the rules of what an item is worth used VS new right out the door right along with common sense!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian, a good buy on an old sweep tube amp is going to be very low. Tubes are outrageous and conversion for more available tubes can be expensive as well.

Some CB radio shops were i live are 100% nuts!! I saw a mav 250 selling for 500.00! The owner said he sells amps according to what they put out in swing watts.!!!! I about hit the roof! I only buy piddly stuff off the guy like coax connectors and stuff but ive seen some of his high priced amps setting on the shelf for up to 7 years because of his high prices with sun faded and dried out price tags on them!! Whats odd is the new radios and amps are usuaslly priced to sell but the used items are priced wayyyyyyyy too high!!
