My riding mower died.... 10 years old and finally quit for good. It's a "need" NOT a "want" ..... I had to spend real money!!!!

Just think what I could have bought at COPPER with that money!!! New radio. What am I saying? Two radio's!! + An amp.+ meters. Not to mention all of the antenna's....:(:(:(

What kind was it? My folks own a 1979 Craftsman lawn and garden tractor and have only had one thing done to it.. The tractor used to burn leaded gas and they had the valves coated and thats the ONLY issue they have had with the motor. The mowing deck was replaced in 1998 as well after it rusted out but thats expected.. LOL

It's something how long those old mowers will last, my old Cub Lowboy is a 1973 model, 30 years old, the motor is orginial, had to have transmission/clutch rebuilt, and the mowing deck worked on a couple times, but that's it. And thats mowing a 3 acre yard.

The OLD one is a MTD 18HP, 46 inch 3 bladed mower deck. I have replaced the deck, the deck pullys, the rotors that connect the pullys and the blades, the safety switches, tires, wheels, the front axle, etc. etc. etc. It goes on and on.

The new one is a SEARS mower. Better last me til I'm moved off this 2 acres.... in an ambulance....

The next time I spend $$$, it's going to go to COPPER! :)

Got two goats already. They're my wife's pets, Gidget and Gadget..... Guess what they eat? Alfalfa.... The good side is that in a "balanced" relationship, ..... I have more justification for the $$$$ I spend on Radios, etc.....

Did I mention the two chickens, Click and Clack lost to a coyote and a hawk?

We had some goats here, a billy and two nannies, kept them in a pen down behind the barn, about 150 yards from the house, I would let them out and they kept the brush and weeds cleaned off the pond levy. They were just pets, then about daylight one morning, heard a heck of a commotion down there, a pack of coyotes had attacked them, I guess the Billie had fought the suckers, he was down and in bad shape by the time I got down there, the two nannies were on top of the barn, there was an old hay truck sitting next to the barn, they would get in the bed, then up on the cab, then jump up on the roof of the barn, those too little gals could climb anything or get out of about any pen if they wanted to. I guess the noise they were making on the tin roof plus all that bleating they were doing scared the coyotes off, I could barly see them going across the field, but it was too late for poor old Billie. I sit out there in that barn loft several mornings after that about daylight with my .270, between me and my neighbor, we got 4 of those mangie suckers before they changed their route across our fields. I found out later the guy that had some chicken houses down the road was throwing the dead chickens over a bluff, which was against the law, and those dang coyotes thought they had KFC down there, the houses were shut down about that time because they couldn't meet the new regulations, and I guess those things were meat hungry. I know this is way off the radio topic and might not need to be posted. ha scrapiron

Big problem Hear. Id would be a kid in a candy store. I want this and that. Never would be able to make my mind up , At this time im going to order a maco antenna beam in the near future. Tech 808 & 1st sargant needs separate radios rooms to keep Tech 808 from getting burnt i think. Just helping out tech 808 .... HE HE HE. At any rate i will spend my money at Coppers just because they put this great forum out. And i can ask ???? AND get good answers. 73's Hal
