I thought it was neat that registered users had a few places that only THEY could visit, but in the interest of increasing forum use I can see the logic, but then who am I,the all seeing all knowing Forummaster owns this site and he can do whatever he deems beneficial to him,I mean no offense, just an observation. |

Trick or treat is against my religion,so we didn't give out candy, but I don't fault anyone else if they want to,oh,I haven't eaten any candy either,if my last post is not approved just suffice to say I'm so sorry to cause so much confusion on the forum. |

I didn't mean to open a can of worms, gosh, maybe it was the way I said it.The little yellow folders like "ask the tech" have no lock in them like the "under construction" one does,it used to have one.I clear the cookies on my computer and I can still acsess "ask the tech" without my password, just my username, please don't approve this post until Forummaster has checked this out,it may have been just a glitch yesterday, but I wasn't sure. Please I didn't mean to p** people off,I tried to word my last post correctly, but I guess I came off sounding like an ***hole again,I apologize,I don't know what else to say,I am sorry.Bigbob MODERATOR 558 NOTE: I too see that there is free access to all but the construction section, good catch BigBob I do not know if it is intentional or not, time will tell

I am a bit confused after reading this post. In the forummasters post he mentioned that there are several sections for registered users, but on the main page of the forum the lock symbols are gone off all categories except one. I tried all categories from another computer I have and was able to enter all areas without any password. Possibly a error? I doubt this was intentional by the forummaster. Kattracker |

i just got my personal computer back up. the hard drive had been giving me problems (under warranty though) i just replaced it last night and reloaded everything today. so this is basically a brand new computer logging on, and all is open on my end also except the 'under construction' area. i don't see the problem with all visitors being able to -see- all areas. i know of no top secret/area 51 stuff going on here. bigbob, it just seems that if you really did not want to 'open a can of worms', you would have worded your 1st post much more differently. forummaster took it much better than i would have. |

When I originally set up the forum the locked icons came up automatically. I kept meaning to change them but never got around to doing it. A couple of days ago I was in the area where I can change the icons and decided to change them to regular folders while I was in there. The locked icon is actually supposed to mean the topic is locked from any further posting but setting it to that does nothing it is just a visual clue. There is another section of the forum administrators menu to set users access levels to topics. I have now removed all the icons from the topics. The icons have absolutely nothing to do with access to the forum. The chart I posted above is correct. You have to be a registered user to enter the areas marked on the chart for registered users. For everyone that thinks they can get in without a password do this little experiment. Select "Edit Profile" from the forum menu. Then select "Log Out". After logging out select "Topics" from the forum menu and try to enter one of the registered user areas. It will now ask you for your username and password. I am impressed that you guys keep such a close eye on the forum to notice such a small change. Bigbobs question was difficult for everyone to understand because they weren't aware of the changes that I had made but I understood what he was getting at. Moderator558 did you read the part in Bigbobs post that said, "please don't approve this post until Forummaster has checked this out"? You should have left the post in the moderators que for me to respond to as I could have emailed Bigbob the answer to his question and possibly avoided all this confusion. Alright everyone move along, nothing more to see here. Back to your regularly scheduled programs.
