Barjan NC100 ? Hummmmm ...... I wonder how it works ? Back in the 50's-60's a form of noise blanking was used on UHF by feeding noise to diodes that shorted the antenna during a pluse. As the man once said VERRRY INTERESTING ...... I/m always looking to improve my receivers If you can't hear them you can't work them. Bruce On 6 since 66

Now inside it has 4-clear diodes - with red stripes, hooked too the center lead of the switch. The max cut of the switch has 2 small transistors with there centers (leg) cut off & 2-diodes.all paralell.$19.99 buy one. |

Sounds like the UHF ones we used back in the 60's diode clipper cuting off at about .3 volts. A simple amp brought that down to .03 volts to cut into heave line noise. SIMPLE gagget .... I remember it had some effect same as a simple noise blanker .... but everybit helps ..... My noise blanker / dsp limiting seems to get the job done but if i get time ill dig up that old ckt and build one just to see how it looks on a 40 year newer receiver .... On 6 since 66

Dale, On that I honestly do not know as I have never experienced that type of problem. Is your radio & antenna grounded to a single point ground on the truck frame? Sorry I cannot be of more help. Lon~Tech808 N9CEF CEF#808 Radio Enthusiast!
