Should work fine. Traditional 225 design except use of 2290s. Input should be about 3w carrier, amp draw around 25a, hook up with min 10ga wire.

"High Drive" ??

With two 2290's ??

Who's kidding whom here?

A customer will ask "What's that mean, there on the front 'High Drive'".

I tell them it means "We knew you would be more likely to buy it if we print this on the front panel".

Or, alternately it means "We wanted to keep our sales volume high, so please blow it up real soon".

Or maybe it means both of those.

Remember, CB radio amp makers and other CB related product (not all though are this way) makers tend to -think- and have us all believe all CBers have an IQ less than 100 so they can sell their products and cheat on the claims!!!!!!!

My brother has a Lizard 250 and it is a nice little amp. He runs his at a 80 watt DC and it still swings.

well i have one coming to the house here shortly. i will tell you how it runs, oh yeah by the way i suggest about 1 watt carrier, just to be on safe side. if you really want it to swing though, change the 2sc2290's to 2sc2879. will have to make a few mods, but nothing severe. could even use sd1446 if just wanna add a little to it

For the money it's not a bad little amp, just remember it's still a 59 dollar amp. If your long winded I would add a fan. A dead key of 2-3 watts should work fine, keep the swing input under 25 watts and it should work fine. Just what in the heck is 80 watts DC, are you maybe talking about a dead key of 80 watts ( DK ) that could be. Even so I would drop it down to 30-50 DK out and let er swing from there.
