I recently received a Palomar 300 elite HD as a gift. Can I run this amp with my Cobra 29 LTD Classic. The radio has been tuned and dead keys about 7 watts. WIll this set up work? |

I also found out that it has 2-SD1446 transistors in it. How many watts can I expect to get out of this amp. I don't know much about amps at this point so any suggestions and answers will help. |

I would turn it down a little so as not to run into distortion. The high-drive amp will stand more input, but i wouldn't push it to hard. If it sounds clean on transmit you may be ok. Some of the Palomar amps are bad to sound muffeled if you push them. If the modulation is clear then run it as is. |

High Drive means it can handle the Hi swing from a dual final radio. Get the dead key down to 2-3 watts or it won't last. You will see 140-200 watts on AM depending on the radio you use. |
