First off, I want to say what an awesome board.
I want to purchase one of those Magnum S-3200 base units.
I want it expanded but want to use my Palomar 300-A tube amp.
I want it tuned to match this amp so it will not overdrive the input.
When I order this unit, should I include this information? What is the output wattage of this base after it is "tuned, aligned and expanded"?
Thanks

DEFINITELY put that in the comments section when you place your order. I didn't and had to ship my base unit back to be tuned for my amp.

They will take care of it for you.

Not sure how they will set yours up as I do not know the recommended input for your amp but mine came the first time Dead Keying 8 watts and 20 PEP, sent it back and now it Dead Keys 2 watts but still swings 20 PEP and no one knows the difference that I have talked to so far.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Per my instructions on that base amp, it says anything 10 watts or over should not be run on high setting, only low but I want to have the ability to use high power when I need it! :-) 1 to 10 watts can be used in low and high mode.
So if it dead keys at 5 watts and swings to 15 or 20 PEP, is this safe to use in "high" mode?

Someone else had better answer that one as I am still new at all this. I know my amp said it could handle 1 to 8 watts but preforms best at 2 to 2.5 watts dead key plus I am not overdriving or even maxing the radio or amp so am hoping they will last a long long time with no problem or need for new tubes.

There are lots and lots of guys here who know tons, sure one of them will answer you soon.

Is that the way it came troublemaker or did the tech turn down the wattage a little?
I did notice on specs that it is 5 watts stock.

CRACKSHOT ,I tried it at a couple different settings, sounds best at 3 watts.I set my own radios,Tech 808's modification list at the left makes it easy for just about any radio.
