I have a three month old KLV1000 that still puts out full power, but when you stop modulating, the dead key will drop to nearly zero, then return to what it is set at. This happened all of a sudden. One day it was normal and the next it started this. I drive it with a 2990DX (4 watt DK) or with a Galaxy DX2547 and it does the same with both radios, although somewhat less with the DX2547. Ideas?

THE 2990 WILL DO OVER 100 WATTS. TOO MUCH FOR THE KLV-1000 EVEN THE 1000P MODEL. KEEP IT DOWN. 2 watt carrier. thats it. the input drive is the same as the klv-550.

If the amp is not a HD. Do a mod on the 2990,that
that shut off the amp in the 90 Rf power all the way up on mine does about 5 to 25 watts peak. Depending on the way vr 13& vr16 are set this should drive the amp pretty good or like the
2547 this might work better than the foot pedal.
this might be a idea.
Good luck

KLV 1000-P Convert to KLV1000--- I just found a KLV1000P at a bargin. Problem is I have no documentation nor manual. Would like to use with 2-6 watts deadkey. Does anyone have a ideal off how to change the 1000-P to a regular 1000??? May a way to swith between low drive and high drive???? Anyone have schematics and instructions????

Thanks a lot guys!!!!!!!!!!!
