you need to have the mode switch moded for am then u need to get a 6khc am filter for am at fox tango i think they go for about $165.00 if you need new tubes they are cheap enough then you need a tech to line it all up for u the radio will do close to 100 watts if you run it right on am all you need to do is use a 10 watt dead key it should swing to about 65 75 watts if u dead key it with more u will burn the tubes up faster great ssb radio it just all the tunning that is a pain in the --- u have to tune every 30 to 50 khc great radio if u like all that tunnig but i would buy a newer one like a ft 757 gx II & remember it tells u in the manual not to tune more than 30 seconds or u will trash the tubes |

I dont understand what you mean by .have the mode switch moded for AM .the radio already has am in it .it is a 901dm . |

it uses the cw filter when u put it in am mode u need to change it when u install the am filter |

Did you remove any ten meter crystals? From what I've seen here you're getting the correct info on the mod to make it work on 11. thanks |
