im trying to unlock the clarifier on my trc 449 but there is a few things i dont understand.

Solder the PURPLE wire to an 8 VDC source.what is vdc and where is it?
5)Solder the BROWN wire to GROUND.....what ground and where is it?

sorry but i never onloced a clarifier before so i need some help thanks
