Hi I just recently got a used Texas Ranger TR 966- 936 I guess they are the same radio? and my buddies on the cb are telling me I am splatering them. I also run a cobra 148 and it is not causing the problem. I was wondering if maybe the limiter had been removed? I am not sure where to look in the radio to find where it should be, Is it a resistor, diode or transistor? and what would the replacement be what number/value so I can put it back in? Other than that problem the radio seems to be nice.
