I picked up a Sears Roadtalker base in pristine condition the other day.. it's one of the old ones with the slide controls for volume, squelch, etc... I opened it up and I noticed it had the TC5080P Pll setup just like the Cobra 32XLR does. I've modded my share of Cobra 32XLR's for extra channels, but this one is set up a little differently. Anyone got any idea or hints on how to get some extra channels by PLL jump on this unit? I don't feel like ordering crystals to add 40 up and 40 down. just feel like adding a few hideaway channels on this rig.

I have an old sears road talker, I added 40 lower channels I believe it was by adding a wire and switch to one of the pins of the pll, I'll have to go back and see which pll type chip it is.
