Hi all,
I have a Titan II mobile 10m rig that I am trying to use with a Heil mic that a friend gave me, but the adapter it has on it is not the right one. The rig calls for a 6-pin male adapter, and the mic my friend gave me had a 4-pin adapter on it that is used for a Kenwood. Would anyone have any suggestions on maybe where I would find a male adapter for the mic that wold fit the 10 meter mobile I have? The mic is a Heil headset with footswitch. I searched the Heil website, and they have no such thing as a 6-pin adapter. Only 4 and 8. The model of the radio is the RPSY-485 if this helps.

Yep, I guess that would be that exact same radio. Was it just that the name changed because of the fact that Radio Shack no longer carries Ham gear and that the radio I have, no longer has the Radio Shack name on them? If this is what actually happened, then why do many people have not heard of this "off-brand" rig? (not the radios that radio shack sold, because then their name would be on the radio). But the one I have which had "Titan II Roadpro" written across the top. |

The radio shack cannot be modified
I bought 10 of the road pro back years ago for our 10 meter FM group they worked very well and a few still have them..... $99 each too cheep to turn down. They are not new and they have ben around at least 7 years
After I got 4 of the HTX-10's i didn need one and gave it to a local ham who is using it on 29.600. Like the MAG-257 and HTX-10 they are great little radios and on 10 fm work very well.
Like the HTX-10 the clarfirer also moves transmit frequency so be aware of this.
My choice of radios for 10 is a HTX-10 it is very hard to beat for a small all mode and back when i had the 79 cady i used the radio shack with my home made 10 meter amp for 300 watts.
Now I drive a small car and I dont even have room for the radio shack so I now use a alinco DR-M03 on FM ( ONLY ) not much can beat it for size or how hot the receiver is. |
