In most cases the "Squeal" you may have when using a Linear is due to the fact the radio is to close to the Linear. If you MUST put your linear on top of the CB , place a piece of corkboard between the two. The reason for this is because the CB has an isolated chassis from ground and when you put a Linear on top of it you remove the insulating properties of the case of the radio. It now becomes ground potential and the chassis feed back resistors are quit working. Try it.
