Gentlemen, no matter how much you may dislike a business entity, either from your own experiene or even from hear-say, it is never a good thing when any business goes under. I tried contacting the aforementioned organization (**I) a number of times by e-mail about 6 months ago and never even got a reply. So I stopped trying and came to Copper and have been very pleased. However, the management is who is responsible for all of the problems with **I's business. Think about it, how about some kid, fresh out of school, just got hired on by them to do work and try and make a living. He probably didn't even know who they were and was just trying to find a job and try to make a life for himself. He didn't have a clue about their business practices. Now all of a sudden, he's going to be out of work. Last I checked, there's not a real big demand for CB techs in this country. When I graduated from college, I had been promised that there were jobs everywhere and people would be knocking down my door to hire me. GUESS WHAT?? It didn't happen!! It's tough to make it in this world, especially since Sep. 11. Or what about the little guy who runs a plumbing shop or electrical shop in the po-dunk county where **I is located. He probably needs every job he can get just to break even. But when the company goes under, there's one less place for him to perform his service. Competition is good for capitalism. If **I are a bunch of cheats, and liars, it can only help out the honest shops. If they are honest and good people, they will make the other shops stay on their toes, and keep up their good work. NOBODY BENEFITS WHEN A BUSINESS GOES UNDER!!! How many people did Ford just lay off? In my town, 150 people just got laid off from a local rail manufacturer. And Mr. Bulletproof, you say they deserve it?? Do you think that right now with the state of our economy, and how many people are without jobs, you should be wishing misfortune on anybody anywhere?? I think you should be ashamed of yourself. If they have done bad things, then they will be judged by the BIG guy. Gentlemen, my folks started their business in 1979, I was 3. We were dirt poor for a lot of years, I was just too young to realize it. But because of their hard work, and honesty, they have made it. But believe me, you think it's easy to have a small business??? Do you know how much money you have to pay in taxes and insurance alone?? Don't forget, even if **I are bad people, they still pay local and state taxes, and those go to help working people, and those that are less fortunate. Sometimes bad things happen to good people, and sometimes good things happen to bad people. LIFE ISN"T FAIR!!! Get over it. I have been burned by many people, and I will probably get burned again sometime in my life. This does not make it justifiable to wish bad things upon those you have never met!!! There has been to much talk on this forum about how bad the "Texas" shop is. I come here to learn things from the old timers and to try and help anybody I can with the little knowledge I have. Please, everyone, stop complaining and flaming the other guys. Open up your hearts a little bit and instead of complaining or speaking hatered, do something to make the world a better place. I really like all of you guys because you have taught me a bunch of stuff. But PLEASE!! It is not a good thing, or even a Christian thing (which I'm sure most of us are) to wish bad upon others. Let's turn the other cheek, and let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We are all located throughout this great country. Let's rejoice in what we have, and blow off the small things that we don't like. Let's all stick TOGETHER and ride out these bad times that we are in. We know that the good times will be back. We also know that anything can happen at any time. I, for one, hope no more business's have to close down or lay off any more people. I'm sure that we are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, short, fat, tall, skinny, black, white, red, green, and everything in between. I love this country and everything "WE" stand for. Let's only wish and hope for good things, and to help those that need it. Let's let the "justice" be dealt out by the one who can judge. 73's to all, Big Dan

If you like to buy from the texas store be our guest. Nooooooooooo Problem.

But do you really expect someone who got hosed there to say good things about them or return for "seconds"..........forget about it.

if you tell it the way it is - you are simply stating facts........If no one warns you about being ripped off you could be next.

Geeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz

Triplecguy:Just the opinion of an old guy who has seen it all including fifteen months in Danang,Vietnam.I can tell you right now that if a unethical shady business goes under the world will without any doubt be benefited. The sad part is the guys won't have to serve any jail time. When you cheat and steal over and over and over you deserve to spend some time sleeping on a cot next to Big Bubba.

Oh PLEASE..What about all the people that have been ripped off by this business ??? This is'nt luck or economic downturns or what have you. These people had every opportunity to deal with people honestly and they DID'NT. So since you are not in any position to get anyone's hard earned monies back, please get off the high horse. I DON'T call 911 and I DON'T turn the other cheek. If you steal from me or mine, you had better run and hide well. Save the sanctimonius lectures for church.

Tripleguy and dinker1 Both of you know that there is a small number of dealers who do not deserve to live. Tripleguy as astute a buyer as i am ive been swindled just like everyone else. My problem was with a UNNAMED dealer of crystal radio parts in 2000. He took my order on a credit card took 6 months before he "filled it and what was sent to my house was .. being nice... crap. A year of yring to get it resolved went no where but i filed a conplant with the credit card people the BBB and the state consumer people and all i got was brushed off EXCEPT the credit card people cut him off so he cant use them any more. So the small guy does work hard for his buck and 99.9% earn it but Dinker1's complaint may be valid and should be heard.

First of all: to Vernonott and bruce, and all others who served during war or peace, on the line or in the rear, currently active or otherwise, a heartful and passionate thanks!

And here's my two cents regarding Triplecguy's posting. His compassion for the working stiffs at **I or any other business is well placed, and shared by many.

But we are fortunate to live in a competitive capitalist society, and sometimes businesses fail. If any business brings about its own demise, a business that consistantly delivers poor service, denies responsibility for its own mistakes, plays childish "put down the competitor" games, and grudgingly responds to valid customer concerns surely deserves to fail.

That said, it is truly unfortunate when employees who go to work each day and do their best lose their jobs. It is devestating (and I know this from personal experience) to put your heart and soul into a job you love only to find yourself on the streets due to no fault of your own. That is one of the realities of living in a free, capitalist country. Another reality is that you get back on your feet, dust your ass off, and get back to work, one way or another.

I don't know (or care) if **I is out of business or just playing their usual games of disregarding customers. I will no longer do business with them either way. If it is finished, the non-management employees are equivalent to the workers at Enron, and they all have my sympathy. The upper level hot-shots of both companies deserve the worst.

Bob

You guys spent time at Danang ? Geez, I would have loved to been that far in the rear. I spent 67/68 with 3rd Marines by Dong Ha. We were so far north they had to pump sunshine in. Wounded at Khe-Sanh (now there's a FUN place) spent a month on the USS Repose (Navy Hospital Ship) and then a month in Japan, then back to the bush. Ah yes the 60's in Southeast Asia. No thanks, been there, done that. 3/3 Marines website is @ gruntsusmc.org Have a great day and to heck with that place in Texas. Last I heard, they have'nt answered their phone in days and website has'nt been added to. Don't know, don't care...

Bob well said, but my posision on this is 99.999% of the hard working people of this country earn the buck honestly. I have had limided dealings with a texas dealer and was as best cool to his operation. As for my story this man didnt care thats the sad part and i now deal with others which is the american way. I worked in defence electronics for almost 20 years and went through many layoffs its a tough way to support a wife and in my caes a profrondy handicapped child. The worker is the one who payes the price for bad management when i worked for GE they layed off 15 percent of the work force and the plant manager got to keep 10 percent of that savings as his bonus... nice people. I feel for anyone even thoes who get fired who are looking for work i worked contract jobs some that led to me being hired by the contract place while working defence work in the mid 80's to the mid 90's when i went into public safety. This man never wants to see anyone suffer.... except benladn.

Despit whatever happened or happens, NO BUSINESS will stay long if they can't deliver a product in a timely manner. No matter how good (or bad as the case may be)your products or service is or is not, if you can't get it to the customer in similar time as your competitors, you will go down.

They have a some new members on EEI and don't know what they are getting into if they order some radios or other things and get their credit cards billed and 5 months later still don't have the order shipped. And got BS instead of the truth about the order. And now there is a new radio site that someone from EEI started and hopes he dosen't BS like he did on the other site. I'm just another one that also got burned. I just hope nobody else gets screwed from them as I and many others did. Just had to get my two cents in. FED UP

I ordered a Texas Star 667V from EEI about a month ago and it showed up within 5 days of placing my order.

Last week, I ordered a Connex 4800 DXL W/ Echo and an Astatic D-104 handmic from them and found it weird to be told that "the computer wasn't working right, but the salesman would put my order in later that day....was told that I should call back Monday for a confirmation number". I found it strange that although the computer supposedly "wasn't working properly", the salesman was able to IMMEDIATELY tell me that both of these products were "out of stock but should arrive the middle of next week".

I called back Monday and was told that the order was just put in that day (Monday) and that I should call back to get a confirmation number the next day.

Called today (Tuesday) and got a confirmation number, but was told that I "couldn't be given a status on my order from that screen.

Is ANYBODY still receiving products from EEI, or should I call my CC Company and cancel the transaction?

Reading this forum is the first I've heard of any monkey business with EEI......

Please e-mail me with info so I don't have to keep checking back here.

The radio was fine except a jumper and plug were not set right , EEI just forgot that's all , We check all mods before they leave here at Copper and it is easy to forget something if you don't check. It is working perfect and I want to send it back to you but I can't read the address. Email it to me ASAP so I can send back your 4800..
