I was reading around on the internet and i found this website where you pay money to buy a book that tells you how to make a kit to use the hydrogen from water to boost your gas mileage the link: www.drivewithwaterfuel.com/?hop=topydim can anyone tell me if this really works or is it just a way for someone to make easy money for something that doesnt work?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,
I would only guess but if it worked every manfacturer would be including it to sell more car's & truck's with the price of fuel and if you have a newer car or truck it could cancel / void your factory / dealer warranty.

From what I've understood the technology does exist in research and development but it is costly to achieve. They need to make it more cost-effective to be worthwhile.
Water contains two of the most combustible elements known to man (Hydrogen and Oxygen) which naturally would be an excellent fuel source. Ironic isn't it that two such flammable and explosive substances, when combined actually put out fire. That we have a tremendous supply/source of both in the world's oceans is great but the cost to divide the two elements into useable form is not cost-effective at this time. |

Watch out for Hydrogen Dioxide - it can kill you if encountered in large enough amounts..

If you pass a DC voltage through a container of water, oxygen will bubble up from the negative electrode, and hydrogen from the positive (that may be backwards)electrode. It produces a perfect 2:1 ratio of hydrogen to oxygen. This is the exact ratio needed to combust perfectly with no pollution forming from the reaction. I believe it takes more energy to spit up one molecule of water H2O, than is created when one oxygen reacts with 2 hydrogens to form water with its exothermic activity. Otherwise, you could generate enough power to keep splitting water and then reacting the gasses with each other while spinning and engine and literally fill up your tank with tap water.

I have been tinkering with it. I have gained up to 4 extra miles to the gallon, from 17mpg to 22mpg. It can work, but can be dangerous if not done right. Mythbusters didn't know what they were doing I suppose.

hmmmmmmm, straight up water-INJECTION has been used for YEARS, mainly to keep the fuel COOL & prevent pre-ignition, especially in race cars where the octane available isn't high enough. the right combination of ignition timing & a bit of water injection will indeed increase mpg, a few percent is the norm.

Some WW2 aircraft used water injection and gained extra power when in combat, the pilot would hit a switch when entering combat to turn on the water injection but could only use it for 5 minutes, I dont know why only 5 minutes but that was it.

my guess, roger, is that since the water injection allows a gasoline engine to be run with advanced timing, higher cylinder pressure, and more 'power', the additional stress needs to be limited because the engine probably would self destruct eventually. |
