they say: that you never miss the water until the well runs dry.well im here to say you never miss the electric until it goes off .mine went
off at 4.30 am this morning and never came back until 2.30 this afternoon, i have lived here for 13 and one half years and this is the longest it has been off, even the bad ice storm of 93 didnt
affect me,lucky i had a propane infared heater and a full tank of propane .now i know how it feels.

Last time we had a power outage it was for 37 hours but luckily I keep a couple of tractor batteries charged up for the radios and we got plenty of camping stoves and butane canisters for the cooking and a butane heater just incase so didn't miss out on radio , coffee nor hot food , best to have all this stuff handy at this time of year cos you never know when it will be needed especially when it is freezing cold outdoors .

the last time we lost power I lived downstate and we lost power for a week. We ran an extension up a tree an over the street to a neighbors house to keep our food from goin bad. The fire marshal didn't like but he also didn't want to replace almost 700 bux worth of meat an another 400 bux worth of food :D

Hope none of that power outage comes this way this summer when it's hurricane season.
Lost power for 5, 7 and 9 days in one month off 3 hurricanes in one month.
Glad your power is back on Gayle and hope everyone else in the bad weather stays safe and warm.
