So as many of you know, I am moving to Florida. Looks like the 23rd of August will be the day. Up here there is one local CB channel, channel 3. Is there a big CB crowd in Florida? Just wondering if I need to get the base radio up as soon as possible, or wait. Just looking for some advice from all the sandpile radio stations!

well tell ya what mike. i had plenty of qsos
on 38lsb from the sandpile. hopefully i can add you to the list.if i was smart enough i would have wrote them down.what part of florida ya

Not Knowing what part of Florida your moving to I can't help you there.
Are you moving near Tampa or Orlando ?
My County of Polk has a big crowd of CB that hang out on Ch 34. As all CB now days you have your good and bad set of folks so be award.
If you do settle in Polk County be sure to check out the local Ham Club too.
Can give more info to you once I know the area you'll be stay at. 73

I'm only 20 miles away from there to the east.
You'll be able to check in to our repeater located in Lakeland.
and we can talk on a reg basic too...

George, well she sure is a very wonderful lady. I just hope I can get her over here by the end of the year. She is looking forward to being in Florida as well. So I guess you could say the Lord has blessed me for sure!

Was the trip OK? No trouble on the way? We've been guite busy here in Vero Beach, FL so much to do to get our daughter ready for school and the wife has had trouble with her hip and back.

Well dale, health issues have really kinda brought it all to a halt. No money, can't work, and now looking at some serious eye concerns. More then likely will not be able to drive when the lic runs out in May. And that will really kill any hope of work, so I would say it's not so good. As for radio, no idea. I have no antenna, and in this park you can't put one up anyways. As for the weather, still in shorts and it is November, so that is one bright spot. Thanks for asking!
