Did a little bit of education this AM when I heard one of our in-house reps tell a customer that "the voltage in the RG-6 coax (remember we are talking mV)will cause the coax to heatup and lose connectivity. Heck at the mV levels usually on the cable it's less than 13uW of power.
Apparently he was taught what he stated as part of new hire training. Guess I need to look at the course and see if it can be overhauled.

Was he talking about satellite installations where the LNB DC power is carried over the RG-6 cable also?

Nope, just plain old cable tv, from the main splitter to the tv.
