I have a Magnum 257 with blue lights but is not the HP and I was wanting to use it with a 200 watt transistorized base amp. As long as I keep the variable power down will I be okay driving the amp or is it still to much for the amp. Any help is greatly appreciated!

yup long as you keep dk down to 1-2 watts
and on ssb keep pep around 15 wattts
i run a non hp omegaforce into a 2 pill
ts 350 with these inputs
