CAN YOU SAY HR2510...? There is only one radio I thinks hears as well and that is my Yaesu FT101-Z. I got mine used, the kid/man who had it was disapointed because when he used it and changed freq's with the mic it went to a freq ending in 0 instead of being on center as he wanted. He parted with it for $100 and a grin thinking he had done me wrong....best damn radio I have ever owned. When I got home with it it took me over 2 months to even consider putting it in the car/truck. Just couldn't get over how well it preformed. It is set up with verible wattage on the SWR-cal knob
and the converstion to 11mtrs. The person who sold it to me(after hearing it on air) tried to buy it back for about a year....~OHIOBIKER~575~

Hello everyone. I like my Uniden Washington. Its a nice basic radio that seems to talk well. I have it working with a Astatic 575m6 mic ,and a A99 about 25ft up. I had the extras done . Its fun!Im happy I got back into this hobby. The only other base radio I ever used before I bought this is a Johnson Viking 5 channel (that still works fine)that my father bought when I was 4 years old.(Im42 now). We used to talk to a man in Kingston Jamacica almost every morning before school for quite a few years on that radio!

For me, only using am, I like my Galaxy's..I had one of the older 2950's and did not like it very much.I understand that they made alot of changes in them for the better.I would concider buying another one to check it out.I know that Galaxy's drift a little but you can always adjust that as it warms up.I think the perfect radio would be to have the big s-meter, 6 digit freq counter, front mic connector, stability of a lincoln, the sound of a Cobra 2000, and the looks of a Galaxy 959...Of course that is asking for alot.It would probably weigh 20 lbs. and be too big for mobile applications.

TAZ, you are sick....lolololol

1. Ranger 2950Dx
2. ICOM 706
3. Magnum 257
4. HR2510
5. Galaxy88

Ranger really out did themselves with the new DX models, and really showed their stuff to HAMS when they came out with this radio. CB or no CB, this radio just plain rocks!!!! Even decent for doing CW.

The only reason I think the ICOM beats the Magnum is due to over all features. The Magnum has better audio than the Icom.

I Agree with OHIOBIKER. The HR2510 does work well. I have a D104 mike hooked to mine, and SideBand is a total blast!!! The only thing that I did not like was the CWtone generator, and the fact that it doesnt do split freqs. But all of the other modes rock!!!! I use mine as a temporary base station.

The Galaxy88. I never was much into the toys(Talkback, echo, etc...) but I do miss that radio. Sideband drift was the only problem, but other older radios also have to be warmed up. No need for a power mike either. Just good clean loud audio in all modes. Kind of over priced for me to buy another one, since the 2950dx will do a lot more, and give me an extra amateur band for less money. It does deserve some props though.

I've never seen another radio with receive like an HR-2510.....it's the only radio I've ever had where you can switch between USB and LSB and hear two distinctively different people talking.

On most other radios, you get interference between the two and receive neither well.

The other day, I was listening to a guy on LSB and switched to USB and heard someone else absolutely crystal clear like I switched to another band....no other radio can do that and I've owned them all!

RCI: Ihave the 30watt model, the modulation pot cranked just a hair under max, with a Turner JM+2/U mic. Of course the 11meter mod, and the factory optional speech processor. Other than that it's pretty much stock. I never modified it bcuz I couldn't find mods for it. I stopped looking for mods bcuz it dosen't need any. This radio is a TALKER!!!!
People I've talked to swear on a stack of bibles that I'm talking on a KW or a Yaesu base. I retired it out of my mobile, so it sits on my desk waiting for skip conditions.

Grumpy,
I am not familiar with Parkesburg, but I will look at a map to see if I can find it.I normally run 27.205 so I dont talk to those guys on 26.785 but I will listen to see if I recognize anybody. Sometime we will have to Pick a freq. and see if we can talk to each other.
