It will never be the same without our lost members as we miss them all but we all still have to keep the forum alive and make it the best we can for the sake of all old , new and future members .

The post have seemed to pick up lately. This is the first radio forum I joined and would hate to see it go. Registered back in 2005 and still check in. Does anyone know when the forum was established?

Going to Copper's tomorrow to pick up a radio, antenna, coax. Have not keyed a mike in 35 years, excited about trying to get back. Everyone of my past radio friends have passed away. Anxious about what it's going to be like. Thanks!

Someone asked when this forum started. I joined on Dec 12, 2001 and I believe it had just started a short time before that. IF I remember right, there was another Copper forum before this one. It was an open forum and some crazies messed it up pretty quick and it was stopped.
I did have a lot of the Copper catalogs all the way back to the early 1980's but lost them 4 years ago when my shop was destroyed by a storm.
There was a lot of good articles and information in those early catalogs.

Post are way down. I was overseas 8 years, and recently returned. I see a big difference. it seems that a lot of folks that were willing to help out, don't chime in as much anymore. I am rebuilding my station, and are very rusty on a lot of my radio theory. Before I got tons of great feedback and try to contribute where I can. Today, mayby one or two folks chime in and i feel like I am being a pain inthe ass when I ask for opinions on topics I am dealing with in my station re-build. I buy from Copper, always have, so I try and show that loyality.

Another thing, I think it takes to long to get something posted, and then for the responses. Too much drag on a topic, IMO kills it, and folks move on too quickly.

Thats my 2 cents, not sure what the solution is..... 392

I joined the original Copper "forum" in 1997. It wasn't an organized forum like this one, more of a place to do a "drive-by" leave a message sort of thing.

Yes, we have lost some 'good ones'. However, keep in mind we have some new 'good ones' here now, and there is never a lack of knowledge here. The new blood (and remaining old blood) are always eager to help!

Besides the Forum Master, I wonder who the longest member here is?

I only joined in 2008 but had been out of radio 14yrs. I knew of Copper through some of the guys I know around the states. When I left radio there was still a CB shop in town, such as it was. And of course Radio Shack. In 2008 I looked around Copper as a guest and thought it was a pretty good forum. Been haunting here since.

The first time I ever bought from Copper was in or about 1985.
