When I first got into this CB radio, before I had internet, I had a friend tell me about Copper Electronics. Since, I figure I have spent over $2,000 on equipment from them. I just ordered more last night and the thrill never goes away waiting for it to arrive. Does anyone else order everything they need then realize they forgot one thing? Ha ha! (but not really funny). Heck I even advertised to my locals if they needed anything but had only one taker. Maybe I buy too much stuff? .....Naw.....not enough ha ha! |

Probably over $1000 thru the years. I remember the magazine. Good old articles and loved looking at the pictures. |

I haven't bought much equipment in the last several years but sure did in the '70's, 80's and 1990's.
Can't remember when I first started buying from Copper but I was ordering when the President 2510 and RCI 2900 came out in the mid 1980's. I can especially remember the 2510 because I keep calling them every few days to see if they were in stock yet. I had ordered a Ranger 3500 sometime before that.
Bought Cobra 2000s from them also over about a 15 year span. I had a pretty good collection of their older magazines but lost them when my shop was destroyed 4 years ago, sure hated to lose those, and my shop.lol |

5 radios including my 2980wx, at least 6 antennas, several mics, and all of the accessories... |

i bought alot. 2 export radio ,several base antennas ,too many to mention wilson 5k mag mount antennas. several hand mikes power and non powered,connectors, coax ,meters

I found copper 7-8 years ago. Since then I've bought 4 radios, 1 amp and an imax 2000, a couple of different mics. I've bought a ton of small items like coax, connectors, etc... |

Wow, I might have all you guys beat. My first Copper "catalog" (pretty skimpy in those days) still had some 23 channel radios in it.

I would not wont to no a couple grand in the last to years i like to try the bigest and best vary expensive hobby but a whole lot of fun thanks copper. |

In my CB Days I spent my share in $ from Copper's.
I would spend even more if Copper sold Ham Gear.
Either way still a great forum. |

I just bought a 2970n2. $428. to my door. Its on backorder. Bummer. Ive got some talkers to get me by. The wait is gonna be rough though with all this skip here. |

I had a antron 99 and a lightning bolt hit it. it ruined the radion scanner and computer. the only equiptment uneffectedd was my pyramid power supply which I am still using |

I've spent a fair amount with Copper for meters, tools, antennas etc. I'm more of a mind to rebuild older radio equipment trying to keep my interests from infringing on the family budget.
After looking at the FCC's radio ban list, I'm leary of buying a new CB radio as most of them are on the list. I have too much time and $ invested to risk losing it because of a ban list. Even found my HR2510 on the list.

However, if you hold a valid amateur radio license, and use one of the "banned" radios on the amateur bands (in a legal manner), then you are not breaking any FCC rules, and posession is perfectly legal.

Nice to know! The list isn't specific. I realize some of them are easy to modify but it can't be both ways, it's either type accepted or it isn't. And I agree, if I'm operating it in a legal manner, I shouldn't be penalized.

I bought my first base station radio, a Cobra 142GTL, from Copper back in the 80s! I remember drooling over the power mics and base stations in their catalogs when I was a kid. Nothing was more beautiful than the GTL or president series base stations and D104 mics back then except Christina Applegate. I also remember the articles on various related subjects including unlocking your new HR2510 but only in the land of "Acirema" (America spelled backwards) where it was legal to do so ;-) I still have that base, the shipping box, the COD packing slip, and all the goodies I've ordered including the RCA antenna matcher, tweedy bird, coax, and many others I've bought from Copper.
Not your average overmodulated, PLL controlled, solid-state weak-watt.

I do appreciate Coppers efforts like the paper catalogues etc.However I am forced to shop elsewhere when Copper only use UPS so shipping a US$129.99 Cobra-148 to New Zealand is US$213.84 :-(
