Is the CB band that empty these days? I can remember breaking for a radio check you would get a bunch of people eager to chat and give you a report on how good or bad your radio gear sounded. I'm really eager to test out my new DX-959 just to get a report. It appears to modulate and put out four watts on am. My watt meter jumps with 12 Watts P.E.P. but it is rare to get a response from people. I bought this radio from Copper Electronics. Do we have some Louisville locals willing to help me out?

With Ham Radio gone so easy to get a license that is where most are turning to. but on the other hand CH 19 as most of us still know is used by truckers.
Keep trying there and one will so answer you for your report.

That's where I have been trying! My Galaxy DX-959 that I just purchased from copper electronics must sound really bad and people are afraid of insulting me or hurting my feelings.

I am sure your radio sounds geat, most folks just can't be bothered to help someone out. Hang in there, you'll get one from someone I am sure.

Scooterman, I'm sure your Galaxy sounds great also. Trust me nowadays if it sounded bad there would be no shortage of rude folks willing to insult it.
Just curious, what type of antenna are you using and how do you have it installed?
