Wife had surgery Monday morning and didn't recover.
She Passed away early Saturday morning.

We are still trying to figure out how to at least have her cremated since she had no insurance and we were surviving on her SSDI while I took care of her (Bedridden)

As it is the grandson and I will be loosing the house we rented since there is no longer any income

I am very sorry to hear about the lose of your Wife my friend. That has to be so hard to deal with, and then to lose your home as well, just seems so unfair! I will keep you in my prayers!

Bob; I deeply regret hearing about your lose. The two worst things to loose is a spouse or child.

If she was on SS there should be a benefit through it or even the county. Check with Medicaid and the local churches, some will donate. Also check with the Funeral director at the facility you hope to use. Even if they don't have an in-house plan, they can help in finding help. It's what they do.
Ask family too, cremation is usually under $1000 and any minister worth his weight will do the service free. I had to do these things when my son passed. As for the house most counties have help available to keep you housed through the welfare system and others and can help you find work as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Best price around here so far is +/- $1700 for just a cremation (no service)

I was finally contacted by representatives of her church (LDS). They were great.

They offered their faculty for viewing and services for free but the transportation and prep services involved are prohibitive compared to just having the service/cremation performed by a funeral home.

her son called a bunch of places and the lowest prices are averaging about 4 grand.

I called Social Security today. Because I am under 60 I am not eligible for Survivor Benefits. Neither is the grandson since we only have custody and didn't adopt.

It will take 2 weeks to get an appointment to apply for the Burial benefit which is only $255.

So far between her son and I we have about $300.
We are trying to raise funds before the hospital sends her off as unclaimed/Indigent and we loose her.

I have been discussing what is going on at the QRZ website and her son has opened a paypal account for anybody that is willing to donate. I doubt if the mods would allow me to post it though

Bob Sorry about the lose, Prayers your way and you be praying about this and then leave it ALL of it in the Lords hands he will take care of it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
