WELCOME TO AMERICA WERE ALL INTITLED TO OUR OPINION...MINE IS QUITE THE OPPSITE OF YOURS DINK... THE SIDEBAND MIC IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE..IF YOU ARE INTO SIDE-BAND. IT TENDS TO CLEAN UP THE HIGHS IN YOUR VOICE AND WORK ALONG THE LINE OF A PROCESSER. I HAVE HAD ONE FOR ABOUT 8YRS. I THINK ITS THE BEST MICROPHONE HEAD I HAVE EVER USED...A LOT HAS TO DO WITH YOUR RADIO TOO...I HAVE HEARD THEM ON AM AND SOME RADIOS THAT THEY SOUND TINNY ON... BUT I HAVE ONE ON MY COBRA 2000 AND USE ONE ON MY HR-2510, MY YAESU, IT SOUNDS AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAT MANY MICS I HAVE OWNED/HEARD COSTING 100'S MORE...JUST WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED. DINKER IF YOURS IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND NEVER BEEN OPENED, I WOULD BE WILLING TO TRADE A MATT BLACK FINISH D-104 HEAD NEW/UNUSED FOR IT EVEN UP! DOES THAT INTEREST YOU?...~OHIOBIKER~575~

Well , the word I got from a long time ham-cber,is that it a great mic. Im told it gives a little more bass and modulation on ssb(hence super sidebander). He told me he had one for years on his Browning Mark II.

The best Mic I ever heard on the air was was one of those echomax 2000's with the echo turned off. sounded better than a D104 on the same radio. clearer and more audio o o o o

If you want an Astatic desk mic of any flavor, you should move fast--they are all gone after current dealer stock is sold out. I have two supersidebanders and they are very good microphones--they work great in any mode on my Galaxy- AM/SSB/FM. They do sound a little bassier than the crystal d104, a little like how the old turners sound.

i guess at one time that is why so many differeny makes and models were made, call me strange if you want I haven't seen a turner yet that I liked, doesnt sound right i know coming from a older generation but i soley liked the silver eagle and yhe golden eagle and also the echomax 2000.. In oudr area here we refered to it as the mike from h**l and they did make abig hit here,,,DEAN-
