Is this a good mobile setup ? Also would running this to a Wilson 1000 magnetic mount on my hunting truck be a good idea ? It's a 2008 GMC 1500. I also installed a second battery to run this setup with #4 ga wiring to cb and amp. Looking forward to getting everything matched up. Thanks for any and all replies.

this should be a sweet setup. not really sure
if a extra battery was needed.being you say
its for a hunting truck i probaly would have
went with a roof top mount for that wilson
in case you,ll be around low hanging branches.
but the magnet is strong so it SHOULD be ok.
id would check to see how many amp your altenator is

165 amp stock alternator on the 08' GMC. You are probably right about the extra battery, the voltage doesn't drop from 14.7 volts, while the truck is idling and amp drawing the max. I've talked quite a distance so far with great feedback, everyone says it sounds awesome.

i think you be ok with stock alt and battery.
i believe the ts500 draws around 50 amps
and the radio probaly only draws around 10
amps..if that much.so your under 165 amps
your stock alt. so thats great!!!go enjoy
