For my use which would be in a vehicle, I would choose the one on top, the AT-5555. Radios with features like the one on bottom are very hard to operate in a mobile, unless you stay on the same channel, mode, etc all time. |

well that depends with me
1st one for sure if its going in a mobile much larger knobs display looks better
2nd one - if its a base setup .appears to have
a vfo knob that be nice for a base station .but
a pain in the mobile to easy to get off channel
if slightly bumped.just my 2 cents worth

The at 5555 also look's like the Alpha 10 am 1000. Also according to CB trick's the mod's are the same |

the rci line is good radio. but there reciever section is a bit noisy imho. why id like to see
more options here

For the price of the q-5 nearly $300, you can purchase a used ALINCO or ICOM and have all bands plus 100 watts, unless you just want a signal band radio...

Go to cbradiomagazine.com for the review of the alpha am 1000. The at 5555 look's just like this radio. You might get a surprise on this radio. |
