The 2950dx 2970n2 2995dx Black face new radio's can be easily converted to 6 meter's. All you have to do is move the black jumper from the position it is located to the pin beside of it. Then turn the radio on and you have 50 to 54 . 6 meter

Yes I did it on the new 2950 dx The 2970n2 The 2850dx These are the ones that have the black back display. Now I did leave the small chip plug in. I did not try it without it. BUT IT WORKED.

I had post this for educational purpose. I do not know but I would guess one might have to retune for peak performance on this. There were no one talking when I did this. It will transmit on the 6 meter. Remember this is for the New Black Display dx radio's. 2995dx, 2950dx, 2970n2. If you look at the board on the 2054 they look the same. Like I said I did this on my radio's I had listed. So at your own risk and for educational purpose give it a try. It works.

You said it will transmit on 6M, did you actually measure the frequency or just going by the radio keying up?

I check the power output on 6 meter. It was the same as any other frequency 10 or 12 meter. I use my scanner on ham setting for 6 meter and it transmitted on the frequency I chose. I am sure there might have to be some fine tune adjustment's for peak receive. This is all I know on this mod.
